These rugs are just too fun! Some are definitely intended for kid spaces, and I think the rest could be used anywhere your little heart desires. Bright, fun colors are for all ages! Here you go- my favorite colorful rugs!
SO SO beautiful. This was from a display, and sadly you can't purchase it. There are DIY instructions if you scroll to the end of the post though! I would love to attempt this...I just need the time.
The artwork of Vera Neumann is amazing. I love the bright bold colors and the perfect imperfectness of it. She started her company at her kitchen table in 1947 and it grew into a multi million dollar licensing business-pretty impressive! Vera believed in art's ability to inspire and enrich people's lives. She also thought that fine art should be available to all and that people should be surrounded by beauty. I couldn't agree more-this completely goes to show that if you do what you love the rest will fall into place. She's known for her signature that often has a ladybug next to it. Her work can be seen on products from Anthropologie, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Bed Bath & Beyond to name a few. There is also a fabulous book available here. Have a look at some of Vera's amazing talent........
I am loving all the bright neon that I've been seeing! I don't know about you, but I am ready to put away my black and gray winter wardrobe and add in some fun color. I tend to wish that I could redecorate each season too- you know how you walk into Crate and Barrel and everything is fresh and fun for spring- or sparkly and cozy for winter? So- here are some wonderful happy colors to get you thinking bright, fun, and spring!
Unique light fixtures are so wonderful. They are a great way to add interest to a space, and they can reinforce or contrast the design style of a room. Here are some of my recent finds as well as favorites I've admired for a while....
BlaBla Kids designs the SWEETEST products. Florence Wetterwald designs these products and they're then knitted by Peruvian Artisans. They are all made from natural fibers and are so irresistibly cute.
Colette at Raw Art Letterpress creates amazing and inspiring prints! I love the blocky lettering, the bold color, and the inspiring quotes. I was delighted when I first came upon her shop, and purchased the Winnie the Pooh Quote as a gift. The prints are all offered in a variety of colors, and there is a great selection of quotes, music lyrics, and greetings to choose from.
I will admit- if I am torn between two products that are seemingly the same, I will choose the one with the best packaging. Often this is how I choose a new type of wine. It hasn't failed me... that often. At least the wine bottle looked good on the counter, right?! Life is too short to have ugly labels in my home (I'm half kidding). I know there are many out there with a discerning eye that will agree with me :) . So, here are some fabulous designs that I would welcome to my shelves or counters- some are actual products you can buy, and some are amazing concepts that I wish I could purchase......
I absolutely love fun pillows. They add some spunk and happy and they're great with neutral decor. They can completely set the tone for a room and they're easily changeable! Some of my favorite kid rooms and adult rooms rely on wall art and accent pillows to give them a pop of color and personality. Here are some of my recent finds. Enjoy!
Beans for dessert?! I know it's not exactly what comes to mind first when your sweet tooth hits, but I am so happy to have found the blog Chocolate Covered Katie. She has great sweet (and savory) recipes that are very healthy and are mostly vegan/gluten free so they are fabulous for your digestive system. They are also packed with Omega 3's from the flax seed and have around 76 calories per serving.
