New Work: Leila's ABC's and Numbers!

I had so much fun re-imagining ABC's and numbers to go in little Leila's sweet, sophisticated nursery! Her parents decorated in really nice neutral grays with modern accents like a super cute chevron rug. I wanted to make these feel happy and delicate to compliment the colors and other pieces of artwork they chose for the room.

Happy Easter!!!

I hope you all had a fabulous day! The weather here was sunny and beautiful- perfect for a walk and still not too buggy! We had a wonderful family brunch and it's hard to believe that the weekend is coming to an end.

Now that it will be after Easter, I am extremely excited that I can now use my white summer purse! It's truly the little things in life :)

 I'm really happy that I didn't buy any Easter candy to have around this year- but the little devil on my shoulder is reminding me that it's all going to be on sale tomorrow......especially those delicious small chocolate Cadbury Mini Eggs........ hopefully the angel on the other shoulder will be more powerful tomorrow.

It's been really busy at our house with my birthday and my husband's falling in the same week. That, along with juggling work and a bit of a spring flu and well...no blog posts.

Fabulous Illustrations- White Space

It's a great day for a BIRTHDAY!!!

Yes, today I turn 30! 

I used to think that number sounded so old, and now I just laugh remembering that thought. I loved my 20's- it was the best of times, it was the worst of times- many wonderful, life changing things happened, and there were some not so great experiences that I am grateful for now because they made me a stronger, better person. So here's to the next 10 years- I can't wait to see what is ahead, and I am so very thankful for the wonderful family and friends that I am blessed to have in my life. 

My wonderful husband (hands down the highlight of my 20's) surprised me with a party this weekend- I had no idea- and I am really hard to surprise! I felt so loved. I feel like I've already had the best birthday yet and I haven't even lived the actual day. Thanks again to Brett and all of my lovely friends and family that made me feel so special. I wish for each of you to feel special and loved today and every day! The best is yet to come!

Inspiration: Creative Commercials

Usually I would tell you that I can't stand commercials- I LOVE DVR- one of the best inventions ever...BUT this past weekend as I was cleaning, etc. the TV was on and I was DELIGHTED by these. You may have already seen them- like I said I'm probably behind because of DVR- but if you haven't I hope you love them, too!

Just try to watch these without breaking into a huge smile- I don't think it's possible! Such creativity :)

Creative sweets

I love to bake, and I love to decorate- but combining the two is very difficult for me. I always have visions of grandeur thinking I can create beautifully decorated cookies and cakes, but it is SO hard to get frosting to look perfectly smooth, and my lack of patience usually gets the best of me. FAB FINDS: Colorful Rugs!

These rugs are just too fun! Some are definitely intended for kid spaces, and I think the rest could be used anywhere your little heart desires. Bright, fun colors are for all ages! Here you go- my favorite colorful rugs!

INSPIRATION: Vera Neumann

The artwork of Vera Neumann is amazing. I love the bright bold colors and the perfect imperfectness of it. She started her company at her kitchen table in 1947 and it grew into a multi million dollar licensing business-pretty impressive! Vera believed in art's ability to inspire and enrich people's lives. She also thought that fine art should be available to all and that people should be surrounded by beauty. I couldn't agree more-this completely goes to show that if you do what you love the rest will fall into place. She's known for her signature that often has a ladybug next to it. Her work can be seen on products from Anthropologie, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Bed Bath & Beyond to name a few. I am loving all the bright neon that I've been seeing! I don't know about you, but I am ready to put away my black and gray winter wardrobe and add in some fun color. I tend to wish that I could redecorate each season too- you know how you walk into Crate and Barrel and everything is fresh and fun for spring- or sparkly and cozy for winter?
